Men more 'pleased' than women with unplanned pregnancy

New York, Mar 3 (ANI): Unplanned pregnancy could be a nightmare for many women, but a new study has found that more men than women would be  'pleased' with the news.

Nearly half of men under 30 have confessed that they'd be an unplanned pregnancy, according to the new study.

The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy surveyed thousands of young men and women, ages 18-29, about their thoughts on pregnancy.

Participants who answered that it was "very important or somewhat important" to avoid pregnancy right now were then asked how they'd feel about an unplanned pregnancy.

The researchers phrased the questions as: "If you found out today that (you were/your partner was) pregnant, how would you feel: Very upset, a little upset, a little pleased, very pleased, wouldn't care," reports the New York Daily News.

Only 20 percent of women responded that they'd be "a little pleased" or "very pleased."

However, a whopping 43 percent of young men answered the same.

Among the 18-19 year old age range, 34 percent of men said they'd be pleased.

The number reached to 42 percent for 20-24-year olds, and more than 50 percent for guys aged 25-29.

Only 16 percent of women ages 18-24 would be pleased by a surprise pregnancy.

The percentage soars to 29 for 25-29 year-old women.
