London - The California mansion where Kim Kardashian’s doomed 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries had taken place, is now being shunned by wealthy brides who worry the venue is ‘tacky’ and ‘jinxed’ by the stars’ ostentatious display.
According to RadarOnline, the Montecito estate owned by former Google chief executive Eric Schmidt was once sought after by the rich and famous to stage their elaborate weddings.
But since millions tuned in to the 31-year-old reality star’s big day, clients appear to be drying up.
“Since Kim married Kris at Eric’s Montecito home, no one wants to get married there any more,†the Daily Mail quoted the source as saying.
“Before Kim, the home was often used in the Summer months as a place where the rich could hold their private weddings – but now couples are shunning the estate because they think the
place is jinxed.
“They saw that Kim’s marriage lasted just 72 days – and they just don’t want the same fate happening to them,†the source said.
The source also said there is a feeling following in the socialite’s footsteps would be a ‘tacky’ choice for a wedding, since the location was so widely featured on ‘Keeping Up with the
Kardashians’.
Kim and Kris, who became engaged in May last year after dating for six months, married in a lavish ceremony on August 20, 2011 which was documented in a spin off reality TV show ‘Kim’s
Fairytale wedding’.
