UK’s Family Planning Association launches `50 Shades` inspired sex toy website

London - The Family Planning Association (FPA), which was founded more than 80 years ago to offer birth control advice to married couples, is now doing its bit to entice more people from  Britain into the bedroom by selling a wide range of raunchy sex toys, games and DVDs on a new website.

According to the charity, it has launched the site as a ‘good and ethical alternative’ to what it claims are the ‘bad and ugly’ practices of the growing number of online sex shops.

All profits from sold items, which include fluffy leopard-skin print handcuffs, a ‘Kama Sutra card game’ and flavoured condoms, will go to the FPA to support its charitable work across the UK.

The charity is perhaps best known for its network of contraception clinics but its latest move comes as public discussion of sex and sexuality has become more open  - symbolised by the  publication of ‘mummy porn trilogy ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’.

“The internet has created a new era of freedom for people to buy sex products and toys” the Daily Mail quoted Terry Hawkins, Business development manager of the FPA, as saying.

“Just as innovations like the Kindle and downloadable books have kick-started the Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon, people also like the anonymity and choice that the internet offers for

exploring their sexual desires.

“However, we’re increasingly concerned by some of the common practices in this sector and believe there is a need for safe and trusted place where people can shop with confidence,”

Hawkins added.
