Millions of Facebookers feel too fat, old or ugly to upload their pics online

London, March 19 (ANI): Millions of Facebook users feel 'too unattractive' for the social networking site and avoid uploading their photos on it, a new survey has revealed.

In the survey, commissioned by weight loss company LighterLife, nearly one in two people confessed to leaving out pictures from their "fat days" when they upload pics to their Facebook profile.

The OnePoll study saw 14percent women saying they un-tag themselves from every photo they are in to prevent it from popping up when other users search their names on the site.

Moreover, one-tenth of the women said they felt sick on seeing a picture of themselves on Facebook, while 13percent avoided being snapped altogether lest the photo was uploaded onto the site.

One in 10 said they used someone else's pic on their online profile, like their dog or a cartoon drawing, to avoid pals and colleagues seeing a real picture of them.

"Its such a shame that people are not choosing to share their Facebook photos, and in extreme circumstances pretending to look like someone they're not," the Telegraph quoted Sue Dover, marketing director at LighterLife, as saying.

Dover added: "Its indicative of the pressure placed on people, particularly young women, in our society to look a certain way that is causing this to happen." (ANI)
