New Delhi (ANI) - Bollywood actors Vivek Oberoi and Chitrangada Singh walked the ramp at a fashion tour that started here on Friday.

The fashion tour includes 12 designers, who would showcase their collection in 25 shows in six different cities.

The collection by renowned couturist Shantanu, Nikhil and Neeta Lulla comprised of outfits in vibrant colours.

The collection was based on latest traditional Indian wear and exotic designs based on Italian cuts.

Talking to media persons, Shantanu said that handloom fabric was used for Italian cut straight fit trousers.

"You look at the texturisation that had happened, it is a handloom brocade fabric that has the Indian souls of the beauty and then we have textured it and layered it. A brocade with being fused with something which is very western and I think that is the soul of Shantanu and Nikhil marrying the West with the East and bringing out the true exotic fusion and I think that is what we wanted to do with Vivek," said Shantanu.

Neeta Lulla said the collection was inspired by Indian garments but was western based.

"I think the collection is inspired from the Kolkata Dhaka Motifs, essentially in blacks and the inspiration of this collection is through Indian garments like Kurties, Padgadis, Loongis and Dhotis. But the look of the entire collection is western," said Lulla.

Actors Vivek Oberoi and Chitrangada Singh were the shop stopper at the show.

Singh said it was a challenge to walk the ramp as she is not a professional model.

"Definitely, nervous and excited, at the same time. This is not what I do and I am not a professional model, so it is not easy every time you walk on that stage and make that outfit look great. Though I don't have to work very hard but I think it is beautiful and it's just lovely," said Singh.

The fashion extravaganza features fashion shows exhibiting designs of renowned couturists such as Ashish N. Soni, Asmita Marwah, Gavin, Milguel, Gunjan and Rahul, Mandira Wirk, Nandita Mahtani, Neeta Lulla, Raghvendra Rathore, Shantanu and Nikhil, Surily Goel, Vikram Phadnis and Wendell Rodricks, among others.

Several celebrities and fashion divas across the country are expected to be a part of this glamorous weeklong fashion extravaganza.

The fashion tour will conclude on September 26 in Bangalore.
