Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Deputy Inspector General SKR holds police-public meet at Pahalgam

Srinagar (ANI): In a bid to boost police and public relation, a special meet was held by Deputy Inspector General SKR Anantnag at Police Station Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir's  Anantnag district here on Saturday.

The aim of the meeting was to maintain close rapport with   general public by strengthening Police Public relation and address their genuine problems.

About 400 to 500 prominent citizens of the Pahalgam area participated in the meeting.

Participants, during the meet, were requested to express their problems relating to Police and civil Administration.

The participants were assured that their problems would be sought out either at own level and by referring their matters to other concerned departments.

 The meeting was concluded   with word of thanks and participants were emphasized to keep their children engaged only with education for their better future.
