Mumbai -  In a freak accident, an empty passenger ferry coach rolled forward and rammed into a stationary Go Air plane Thursday morning at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport here, official sources said.

The coach, belonging to the Jet Airways, was parked in the washing area in the airport and rolled forward to the Go Air Airbus A-320 parked in a remote bay nearby.

The impact damaged the front nose portion of the aircraft, which was also empty when the incident happened around 5 a.m.

officials of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have inspected the aircraft while Jet Airways and Go Air are conducting separate internal inquiries into the freak accident.

The Go Air aircraft, which was scheduled for a flight to New Delhi at 6 a.m., has been grounded till further notice.

All passengers booked on the flight were shifted to alternate flights and there were no disruptions of any kind due to the incident, the officials said.
