Former Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan's show cut short 'intentionally'

Former Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan's show cut short 'intentionally' Kolkata - How to cut short an interesting programme? Kolkata Book Fair 2012 authorities Monday found a way out by 'intentionally' switching off power when a discussion by former Pakistani cricketer and politician Imran Khan was in full flow - as the programme had crossed the scheduled time!

"The programme of Imran Khan continued even after scheduled time. This was creating a serious problem as the next programme at the same auditorium was getting late. So we had intentionally switched off the power to stop the programme," said Tridib Chattopadhyay, general secretary, Publishers' and Booksellers' Guild.

The power remained off for around 4-5 minutes during the discussion programme "Captaining a nation" on cricket, politics and Pakistan, where Imran Khan was the main speaker.

The intentional power off also caused a severe security threat at the Milan Mela grounds - the venue of the book fair.
