Bhubaneswar - Maoists Friday blew up a vehicle of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Odisha's Malkangiri district, police said. Four security personnel, including a BSF commandant, were killed.

The rebels triggered the blast near Balimela using an improvised explosive device (IED), Inspector General of Police (Operations) Y.B. Khurania told IANS. "There were four casualities," he said.

They include a commandant, a deputy commandant, an inspector and a sepoy, he added. Further details were awaited, he said.

The district of Malkangiri, over 600 km from here, is considered a Maoist stronghold.
