New Delhi, Feb 19 (IANS) Delhi saw a chilly and windy morning Friday with the mercury dropping below average.

The national capital recorded a minimum of 8.6 degrees Celsius, a notch below average for this time of the year.

"The mercury has dropped due to cold winds blowing over the national capital. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 24 degrees Celsius," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Strong winds will sweep over the capital in the next two days, the weatherman has forecast.
