Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatars Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the grassroots level.
I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics, Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

New Delhi - An Israeli diplomat's wife, injured in a car bombing attack here, was “discharged on request” Friday from a private hospital, doctors said. She is likely to go back to Israel for further treatment.

"She (Tal Yehoshua Koren) has been discharged on request. She said she wanted to be with her family and we decided to discharge her after examining her medical condition,” N.D Khurans, medical superintendent at the Primus Hospital, told IANS.

Koren, wife of the Israeli defence attache, suffered multiple injuries Monday when a motorcycle rider attached a magnetic explosive device to her car and sped away. Within seconds, the device exploded with a thunderous sound, setting the car on fire.

As she left the hospital, Koren was accompanied by a team of doctors who had come from Israel and would be taking over the course of treatment ahead.

Doctors had earlier conducted a surgery to remove from Karen's spine the shrapnel that had injured a nerve, causing weakness in her left leg.

"The team of doctors has taken complete responsibilty of taking her back home and carrying ahead the treatment,” Khurana added.
