CPI-M pays homage to comrades, takes potshots at Trinamool

Kolkata -  Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leaders, who paid homage to their slain leaders outside the state assembly here on Thursday, lashed out at the ruling Trinamool Congress

(TMC) Government led by Mamata Banerjee for accusing the opposition for fabricating rape cases with an aim to tarnish the image of her government.

"Here Chief Minister is passing comments all time, without knowing any details of the incident. It happened few days back in park street rape case issue, once again it has happened there in  Dewandighi of Burdwan," said CPI-M leader Bimal Bose.

"It was a cold blooded murder by the Trinamool...so what chief minister is saying it has got no relation with the reality," he added.

The leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) Party, however, refrained from paying homage to the deceased leaders.

"What has happened today is an exception, its doing politics and partisan politics, petty party politics even in respect to the deceased former legislator which has never happened before,"

said CPI-M leader Suryakant Misra.

The CPI-M had taken out a rally in Kolkata today to protest the killings of Pradip Tah and Kamal Gayen in West Bengal yesterday.

According to reports, the CPI-M has called for a shutdown in Burdwan to protest the killing its leaders by suspected Trinamool activists yesterday.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has, however, linked the deaths to infighting within the CPI-M.

CPI-M leaders Pradip Tah and Kamal Gayen were killed in an attack during a procession in West Bengal's Burdwan town on Wednesday.
