Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Bhopal -  Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said that he has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the killing of Indian Police Service  (IPS) officer Narendra Kumar Singh.

Chouhan said that he had passed the order on the insistence from the family of the deceased officer.

Singh, who was posted at Banmore as Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), was crushed to death under the wheels of a tractor-trolley last Thursday, allegedly by a member of the mining   mafia, when he tried to stop the vehicle which was illegally carrying stones at Banmore in Morena District.

The state government had earlier ordered a judicial probe in the matter.
