Kolkata/Chennai - With an earthquake of 8.7 magnitude striking the western coast of Indonesia and tremors being felt in the eastern parts of India, residents of Kolkata and Chennai on Wednesday appeared to be very tense hoping that there is no loss to life or property.

Meanwhile, residents of Chennai , who felt the earthquake , expressed similar sentiments
"I was just inside my house and after lunch I was taking rest on my sofa. I felt there was some shaking " said Mani Rao, a resident of Annanagar in Chennai.
"Few seconds back, I felt the tremors. I was working on my laptop, I saw everything shaking. I thought there is some wind, but later on I came out, everybody was on the streets. It was a kind of dizzy
