UP CM Akhilesh to meet PM, ask for more central funds

New Delhi - Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will meet Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh here on Saturday seeking more central assistance for development in the state.

According to reports, Akhilesh is expected to take up various issues with regard to the state government. He is expected to raise a proposal to increase the budget outlay for the state during his meeting with

Dr. Singh.
 
Akhilesh, 38, became the youngest chief minister of Uttar Pradesh on March 15.
 
Akhilesh and his party won 224 of the 403 state assembly seats.
 
He has been credited with reviving the party's image through his earnest approach and campaigns that won over the state's voters with promises of development.
