Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

New Delhi - A Delhi Police constable was shot dead by his colleague in the capital, police said Monday.

“The incident was reported around 11 a.m. on the premises of the Police Training School (PTS) at south Delhi's Malviya Nagar where Dinesh was shot dead by Sunil with his service gun,” said a police official.

“What prompted the accused to open fire is not clear yet. Our enquiry is on,” the officer said.

Kumar was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences where he was declared brought dead, police said.

“Both were posted with a battalion of Police Training School and hailed from Rajasthan,” said the official.
