New Delhi - The government has accepted a recommendation to set up a committee to study the pending CBI cases in courts and suggest ways for their speedy disposal, the Lok Sabha was informed Wednesday.

Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions V. Narayanasamy said in a written statement: “The recommendation of the group of ministers (GoM) to set up a committee to study the pending CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) cases, in particular, for more than a decade in various CBI courts and suggest ways for their speedy disposal, including withdrawal if need be, has been accepted by the government.”

The guidelines for the committee were in the process of formulation in consultation with the CBI, he said.
