Girl dies in celebratory firing

Lucknow -  A six-year-old girl was shot dead in celebratory firing at a wedding in Uttar Pradesh, police said Tuesday.

The incident took place Monday night in Bahraich, 130 km from here.

The man who allegedly caused the death at his friend's wedding has been identified as Pradeep Gautam, a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader. A police official said he fled after the firing.
