Sixty hours on, Mahi still in borewell as rescue operation intensifiesGurgaon - More than sixty hours after four-year old Mahi accidentally fell into a 70-feet deep borewell in Kho village of Manesar town, local authorities and security personnel are struggling to save her.

A rescue team, led by the Army's engineering corp, achieved minor success on Friday night by moving a portion of the rock that was obstructing the passage of the tunnel being dug to reach the child.

The team is trying to remove the rock manually as officials say a drill could harm the girl.

The Gurgaon metro authorities have brought in a drilling machine to dig a parallel shaft that will then be used to reach Mahi through an underground tunnel.

More than 100 officials from the Army, Police, National Security Guards (NSG), Gurgaon civic authorities, and Gurgaon Metro are involved in rescue operation.

Commandos have managed to dig about 70 feet and are now trying to determine the exact spot where Mahi is.

A team of doctors is on standby for the girl and oxygen is being continuously supplied to her.
