Chennai -  At least 30 people were injured when a Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus fell off Gemini flyover on the arterial Anna Salai here on Wednesday.

The accident occurred when the driver, while maneuvering a turn towards Nungambakkam High Road, lost control over the vehicle.

Eyewitnesses say that the bus, that was going from Broadway to Vadapalani, was carrying around 50-60 people when it met with the accident.

The injured were rushed to the nearby Apollo Hospital, Government General Hospital and the Royapettah Government Hospital, and no casualties have been reported yet.

A crane was still struggling to pull the bus back on its wheels, and traffic on Anna Salai has been affected because of the accident.
