Assam molestation: Channel editor says he'll quit

Guwahati -  Atanu Bhuyan, the editor-in-chief of News Live channel, Tuesday announced his decision to quit following widespread criticism of the telecast of the molestation of a  teenage girl here July 9.

Bhuyan made the announcement at a press conference here.

The police have arrested four more people in the case taking the total number of arrests to 12. The police have also stepped up efforts to nab the main accused, Amarjyoti Kalita.

Channel reporter Gaurav Jyoti Neog has been accused of instigating the mob to strip the teen after she came out of a pub on the busy G.S. Road Monday night. Neog resigned Sunday after  a probe was announced.
