Ghaziabad - Three motorcycle-borne robbers shot a meat trader and looted Rs. 3 lakh in cash from him here Monday morning, police said.
Abdul, 45, a resident of Pawan Vihar of Khoda colony was going to make payment of salaries to labourers in his establishment in Gazipur, when three robbers on a motorcycle intercepted him and looted Rs.three lakh from him early Monday.
When Abdul resisted, one of the robbers fired at him. He was injured in the chest. Seeing the scuffle, the residents nabbed one of the robber and handed him over to the police.
Abdul was rushed to Fortis hospital in Noida where doctors have stated that his condition is critical.
During interrogation, the robber revealed his identity as Irshad, a resident of Bijnore. He also revealed the identity of the other two accomplices as Raj Kumar and Akbar, both residents of Shastri Park.
"Raids are being conducting to arrest the two absconding robbers," said R.K. Pandey, circle officer of Ghaziabad police.
