PM greets people of Maharashtra on Navroz

Mumbai -  The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, on Saturday greeted the people of Maharashtra on the auspicious occasion of Navroz.

"I am particular happy to be in Mumbai for the auspicious occasion of Navroz. I convey my greetings to all the citizens of Mumbai and Maharashtra on this auspicious occasion," said Dr. Singh, while speaking at the at the concluding function of the sesquicentennial celebrations of the Bombay High Court here.

Dr. Singh had earlier in his message to the nation said that Navroz symbolizes new beginnings and is seen as harbinger of peace and prosperity.

"The festival reminds us of the rich diversity and inclusiveness of our culture," he said, while extended his best wishes to the Parsi community for their success, prosperity and well-being.
