Imphal, Mar 19 (ANI): Two hardcore activists of the banned KCP-MC militant outfit, who were arrested by a combined police team from Aizawl, have been brought back to Manipur.

Manipur police commandos, the Army, and Mizoram Police arrested the two militants, identified as Laishram Ranjit Singh alias Tamnganba (36) and Naorem Anand Singh alias Pari (28) on March 15.

Talking to reporters, Superintendent of Police of Bishnupur district, L. Jayanta Singh, said that the two were arrested after police raided a house based on a tip-off.
Singh added that the KCP-MC has specialised in extortion from various government departments.

Singh said that as per preliminary investigation, Tamnganba has floated another group in the style of KCP(MC),  and has set himself up as the Chairman-cum-Commander-in-Chief of the outfit since September 2009.

In the follow-up operations, the commandos of Bishnupur district have arrested three cadres, including a woman, of the same outfit on March 16. Incriminating articles relating to the KCP(MC) Tamganba Group have been recovered from them. (ANI)
