Passport of Yasin Malik should be revoked instantly: BJP

New Delhi - Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik's decision to share the dais with LeT Chief and Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan, has created a flutter in India and led to demands for cancelling his Indian passport .

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader M. Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday criticised the government over the issue, saying Malik's passport should be revoked instantly.

"It is objectionable that a separatist leader goes to Pakistan and shared dais with a terrorist. The matter is very serious. The government of India should take it very seriously and also take appropriate action against him," Naidu added.

"Instead of catching Hafiz Saeed, Yasin Malik is being allowed to meet him. What policy of the Indian Government is this?," asked BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar.

"It is required to know that what was he (Malik) celebrating with Hafiz Saeed after killing and mutilation of our soldiers along the border. The government and the Home Minister must answer that why they are not taking proper action against these anti-national separatist leaders. Strong action must be taken against these people who, despite living in India, associated with the deferent terrorist organisations involved," said BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

Malik, currently on a private visit to Pakistan, and some of his supporters observed a 24-hour token fast in protest of the execution of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and participated in a gathering to mourn his hanging, where Hafiz Saeed was also present.
