New Delhi, (IANS) A gang of vehicle thieves was busted with the arrest of two men in central Delhi, police claimed Wednesday.
Bhupinder Gupta, 33, and Harish Gupta ,30, were arrested after a car they were in was found to be stolen during a check Tuesday.
"On verification, it was revealed that the car was stolen May 1," a senior police official said.
During interrogation, the duo disclosed that they sold stolen vehicles in Delhi as well as in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh.
According to police, the gang would procure the copies of registration certificates of vehicles of their relatives and friends.
"They then changed the number plate of the stolen vehicles according to the registration certificates available," senior police official further said.
Police recovered six two-wheelers and one car from them.
