In a huge sigh of relief for Indian boxer Vijender Singh, National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) announced on Tuesday that the boxer has tested negative in the drug test.
Chennai, Jan 5 (UNI) The
opposition AIADMK in Tamil Nadu suffered a setback as the party's
Ramanathapuram District Secretary and former Minister V Sathiyamoorthy
resigned from the post, stating the party had no respect for loyalists.
The resignation of Mr Sathiyamoorthy comes a day after miscreants
torched the car of party MP V Maitreyan in a petrol bomb attack at his
Shastri Nagar residence, presumably due to intra-party feud over the
organisational elections.
Mr Sathiyamoorthy, who had unsuccessfuly contested against DMK's
actor-politician J K Ritheesh in the May 2009 Lok Sabha elections,
sprang a suprise this morning, when he released his resignation letter
to the media.
The former Minister, who had been keeping a low profile after he
lost the Lok Sabha elections, said he could no longer continue in the
post of District Secretary, as there was no respect for true loyalists
in the party.
''There is a stiff competition between the true loyalists and
those who pretend to be loyal'', he said and alleged that there was no
respect in the party for those who had fought for the development of
the party.
When contacted, Mr Sathiyamoorthy told UNI over phone from
Ramanathapuram that he took the decision to bring to the knowledge of
party high command that loyalists had no place in the party.
