Kolkata, (IANS) -West Bengal's Left Front government is reeling under the burden of loans totaling Rs.192,000 crore, Railway Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee said here Sunday.

Displaying Reserve Bank of India documents, Banerjee said: "This only shows the pitiful economic condition they have brought the state to."

She said union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has sanctioned another Rs.3,0000 crore loan for the state.

Asked about the murder of a Trinamool Congress activist in West Mindapore Sunday, Banerjee discounted the possibility of the Maoists having carried out the attack on the victim.

"The Communist Party of India-Marxist is committing these murders and then leaving Maoist posters at the spot," she said.

Banerjee also announced that the Trinamool-run Tarakeshwar Municipality will not impose any pilgrim tax on the religious who assemble in Hooghly district on the occasion of Shravan Mela.
