Burmese general visits Gaya, to arrive in Delhi Monday

New Delhi/ Gaya (ANI) - Senior General Than Shwe, the Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council, Union of Myanmar, on Sunday visited Gaya's Kushinagar area.

Shwe will attend a programme in Gaya/Sarnath on Monday and arrive in Delhi on the same evening.

On Tuesday, he will be accorded a ceremonial reception at the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

He will then proceed to lay a wreath at Rajghat.

External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna will call on him at the Hotel ITC Maurya in New Delhi on Tuesday morning.

At 3.30 p.m, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj will call on him at Hotel ITC Maurya.

At 4.00 p.m., Vice President Hamid Ansari will call on him at the same hotel.

At 4.45 p.m., he will lead delegation level talks and a few agreements will be signed at Hyderabad House.

At 7.30 p.m., Shwe will call on President Pratibha Devisingh Patil.

President Patil will host a banquet for him at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

On Wednesday, Shwe will leave for Hyderabad to attend a programme there.

On Thursday, he will leave for Jamshedpur via Kolkata to attend a programme in Jamshedpur.

He will leave for Burmese capital Nay Pyi Taw the same evening.
