Delhi remains muggy, rains expected in afternoon

New Delhi (IANS)- Delhi saw a muggy morning Friday with the maximum humidity recorded at 92 percent. The day is likely to be hot with the maximum temperature forecast at 37 degrees Celsius but rains are expected in the afternoon.

"Thunderstorm and rains are expected after 2.30 p.m.," an India Meteorological Department official said.

The minimum temperature recorded Thursday was 27.6 degrees and maximum temperature was 35.5 degrees - both one notch above average.

A total of 13.2 mm of rains were recorded Thursday. Delhi has so far received 228.8 mm of rains in this monsoon season - 10 percent below average.
