Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Ahmedabad (PTI) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan's A B Corp today organised a special screening of the actor's latest flick 'Paa' for Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

The special screening was held at City Pulse multiplex in Gandhinagar in presence of Bachchan, who appealed Modi to make the film tax-free in the state.

"We organised the screening of 'Paa' (for Modi) so that the film which is based on subject of a physically challenged child gets tax exemption," Bachchan told reporters here.

"The special thing about the film is, I have taken up a role of a physically challenged child. There are numerous such children in the country but in the film we have not tried to portray the child as a pitiful character," he said.

"These children are normal kids and they should be treated like any other child," he added.
