Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Both the incidents took place in the state's restive Dantewada district under Bastar region, some 400 km south of state capital Raipur.

"Civilian Kunjam Muya of village Jaggawaram who was abducted by rebels Tuesday, was found dead at a roadside in village Mariaguda," Amresh Mishra, district Superintendent of Police, Dantewada, told IANS, adding he was killed on charges of spying for police.

In another incident, at a forested village Gorkha under Bhejji police station, G.S. Marawi, the additional superintendent of police of Dantewada and an SPO Bhunesh sustained serious injuries when they stepped on a pressure-mine planted by Maoists.
