Uma Bharti refrains from commenting on Kushwaha rowKanpur - Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharti on Friday refrained from commenting on the inclusion of sacked Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Babu Singh Kushwaha in her party, and said that she does not want to speak on the subject to the media, but would speak on the party platform.

"Whatever I have to say, I speak on the party platform. I do not speak such things to the media personnel. Whatever I have to say about the party, I talk it in front of the party leaders and not before the media," Bharti told the media here.

"Whatever I have to say in the party, I do not talk about it outside," she added, when asked whether she was upset over the inclusion of Kushwaha in the BJP.

According to certain media reports, Uma Bharti is extremely upset over the inclusion of tainted former Uttar Pradesh Minister Babu Singh Kushawha in the BJP, and has threatened the party to stop campaigning in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh.

Babu Singh Kushwaha, a prominent OBC leader from Uttar Pradesh, was sacked from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) following which he joined the BJP.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had on Wednesday raided Kushwaha's residence for his alleged involvement in swindling funds allocated to the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), a Central Government's health scheme for the rural population.

The investigating agency conducted raids at over 50 other locations in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi.

Kushwaha has been named as an accused with 50 others including government officials in FIRs registered against the NRHM officials and private companies. They have been charged with criminal misconduct and abuse of office.
