Uma Bharti taunts Digvijay Singh, invites him to RSS campsKanpur - Taking a dig at Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Bharti asked him to attend one of the camps organised by the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS).

Talking to reporters here, Uma Bharti poked fun at Singh and said he should come forth and attend one of the RSS camps to know the reality.

"I must tell you that Sangh is a great nationalist organisation and it is an honour to be part of it. The people who are part of the organisation are part of the organisation. I would like to suggest that you (Digvijay Singh) should visit one of the camps organised by the Sangh," Bharti added.

She also condemned the ink attack on yoga guru Baba Ramdev.

Further, citing tossing of a shoe by a journalist at Home Minister and slapping of Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, she said such acts of attacking public figures are a disgrace.

"Whether it is done by a person belonging to BJP or Congress, it is very condemnable. Baba Ramdev is national figure. And these incidents of insulting public leaders like Chidambaram when footwear was tossed at him or (slapping of) Sharad Pawar are equally condemnable. These acts are a misuse of media publicity," she added.

Meanwhile, to a poser on her possibility of contesting in the ensuing polls to Uttar Pradesh, Bharti said that the party head, Nitin Gadkari would take the decision.

"Nitin Gadkari will decide whether (in Uttar Pradesh) I should contest elections or not. Therefore, all the answers would depend on his decisions. The key factor is his decision on my contesting the polls," she said.

Polls in Uttar Pradesh are to be conducted in seven phases between February 8 and March 3. The counting of votes would take place on March 6.

Uttar Pradesh will elect a new 403-member state assembly in March, and the poll results are expected to broadly indicate trends for 2014 general elections.
