Jharkhand to monitor under-construction roads through mobile phones

Ranchi -  Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has come out with a unique idea to monitor road construction in the state - pictures clicked on mobile phones.

The photos will be uploaded and transferred to a monitoring cell in the state headquarters in Ranchi.

Munda in a review meeting of the road construction department Thursday asked the officials to provide mobile phones to executive engineers involved in road construction work.

"The executive engineers will capture the photographs of under-construction roads and send them to superintending engineers," an official of the road construction department told IANS.

Munda, who is also in charge of the road construction department, has hit the road to review the road conditions of the state. The third part of his road inspection began Friday.
