Kolkata - West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee has slammed the Congress-led Central Government for withdrawing funds sent for the upliftment of the state.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of an event here on Monday, Banerjee said: "I had asked them not to take away the money. We can at least do some work with it, but the government took away the money."
"We, the new government, are in a broken state, but still some people are conspiring against us and the AMRI incident has to do with this," she added.
Cracks have appeared in Congress - TMC ties and the strains was visible during a parliamentary debate on the Lokpal Bill, when the TMC opposed certain provisions in the government draft of the bill.
The TMC has so far refused to budge on the issue, leaving the ruling Congress party fuming.
The TMC and Congress alliance has run into troubled waters on several issues, like the passage of the bill for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the multi-brand retail and the Lokpal Bill.
