Mayawati, Sonia Gandhi to address rallies in Uttar PradeshLucknow -Chief Minister Mayawati will address two political rallies in Sitapur and Barabanki on Wednesday, while Congress president Sonia Gandhi will address rallies in Gonda and Deoris.

According to media reports,over the next fortnight, Mayawati will address nearly 30 rallies across Uttar Pradesh, which will go to polls in seven phases starting from  February 8.

Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party is fighting to retain power in the state, while the Congress sees the electoral fight as one of its best chances to re-establish its political influence under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.

On Tuesday, the Congress released its manifesto for Uttar Pradesh, promising better law and order, education, improved development and reservation of jobs for the minorities.
