Have sorted out differences with Rawat: Vijay BahugunaNew Delhi - Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna has said he has resolved differences with senior Congress leader Harish Rawat.

"Harish Rawatji is a dedicated worker of the party and a very close friend of mine. Over the past two days, we have sorted out differences that had almost cropped up in the party recently," Bahuguna told media.

Soon after the Congress named Vijay Bahuguna as chief minister of Uttarakhand supporters of Rawat expressed their displeasure over the decision.

Rawat, a key contender for the post of chief minister, was miffed at being overlooked for the post. The Congress party is trying to resolve the issue.

Bahuguna said the decision regarding further action lay with Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

"During our talks, neither did I nor Mr. Rawat approach each other with any proposals. Now, Sonia Gandhi will take a decision over the result of our talks," said Bahuguna.

Rawat said the issue was internal and not personal.

"Solution to the problem that erupted inside the Congress party will be found within the outfit itself, for which we are trying really hard. The entire episode is an issue of family and not against one person," said Rawat.

Rawat further said he would cooperate with Bahuguna to resolve the issue and to give good governance to the people of Uttarakhand.

"I don't know who is with the minority or majority group of the party, but I can assure you that, I will cooperate with the chief minister up to any extent in giving good governance to the people to Uttarakhand," he said.
