New Delhi -  Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi will hold meetings here April 5-6 with the party's legislators from Uttar Pradesh and some candidates who lost in the assembly elections to analyse the party's poor show, sources said Wednesday.

The interaction is aimed at galvanising the party for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Sources said that Gandhi will meet candidates who had polled more than 20,000 votes Wednesday and party legislators from the state the next day.

Gandhi had led the party's campaign in the state and later taken responsibility for its poor performance in the assembly elections. Congress won 28 of 403 assembly seats in the state.

A party leader told IANS that they would apprise Gandhi of their assessment of the party's performance.

Gandhi is expected to tell partymen about the course of action for the party in Uttar Pradesh which sends 20 MPs to parliament.

Party source said the meetings will be the first formal review of the Uttar Pradesh polls by Gandhi. A meeting scheduled last week was postponed.
