Gadkari pulls up Congress over economic slowdownKangra - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Gadkari has lashed out at the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre for the country's declining economy.

"Owing to poor governance and high inflationary prices, the country was facing a severe crisis at the hands of the UPA Government, which no longer deserved to stay in power," Gadkari told media here.

"In the days to come, people want to see a change in power, they want the BJP to take control of the country and get rid of UPA. I am confident that in Himachal Pradesh, our party will retain power with the support of the people," he added.

While hailing the Himachal Pradesh Government, Gadkari further lauded the other states ruled by his party by claiming that good governance was the essence of BJP's rule.

"The states ruled by BJP have shown outstanding results as far as their economic health is concerned. On the other hand, the Congress party has only decelerated the country's growth. Never before have we faced such a crisis. This is due to wrong economic policies and corrupt practices pursued by the Congress government," he said.

"I believe that all BJP-led states would return the glorious days of governance to the country under the banner of National Democratic Alliance," he added.
