Narendra Modi wants PM to adopt Gujarat style of governance Gandhinagar - Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has advised Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to follow his state government's development model to improve the management of the country.

"Mr. Prime Minister if you try to follow the path of Gujarat state, the condition of the country will be transformed. If you do so, I assure that the country's poor state would change. You are on the wrong path hence this is the condition of the country," said Modi.

He further slammed the Congress party-led government over spiralling rate of corruption and scams in the country.

"Whether you read newspapers or watch TV, they only talk of the numerous scams taking place in New Delhi. There is a new corruption related report every day leading to questions in our hearts that what is happening to our country. On the second hand some people are buying advertisements. People are playing games with money," added Modi.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his government have been under severe criticism over alleged involvement in various corruption issues such as the telecom scam, the misappropriation of funds of Commonwealth Games funds, manipulation in the allotment of flats in the Adarsh Housing Society, besides many others.

The most recent scam linked to the government is the Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) report on a coal scam, which ha resulted in parliament not functioning during this past week.

The BJP has held the Prime Minister, who then held direct charge of the coal ministry, responsible for what has been estimated as a notional loss of Rs 1.86 lakh crores by the CAG in coal block allocations, and demanded his resignation.

The CAG report on coal block allocations states that nearly 150 coalfields were allotted to private and state-run firms without transparency and objectivity between 2005 and 2009.
