BJP amends its constitution, allowing Gadkari to get a second term Surajkund (Haryana) - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday amended its constitution, allowing Nitin Gadkari to get a second term as party president.

The party's National Executive had passed a resolution in its last meeting in Mumbai, allowing an amendment in the BJP constitution for a second term for its president.

Today, BJP National Council, which has 1,200 members, formally adopted the resolution after senior party leader Rajnath Singh proposed Gadkari's name for a second term.  Gadkari's current term as president ends in December.

His second tenure will continue till December 2015.
