London - Ryan Giggs, who was identified by an MP this week as the married footballer who has an injunction over an alleged affair with reality TV star Imogen Thomas, has reportedly got the backing of his wife to take on Barcelona in the Champions League final.
Heartbroken Stacey Cooke is said to have told him: "Go out there and play the game of your life."
"Stacey knows this could well be his last big European night and wants him to do himself proud," the Mirror quoted a source as saying.
"She realises what it means to him. He lives and breathes United and this is his biggest game of the season, if not his whole career."
Stacey, 32, is still said to be devastated over the scandal surrounding the football legend and Big Brother beauty Imogen Thomas.
But the mum of two is prepared to try to patch up their four-year marriage.
Giggs is said to have promised he would never cheat on her again as he begged for one last chance.
A source said: "She was hurt - who wouldn't be? She knew about the injunction and agreed it was the right thing to do to protect the kids.
"She was upset because Ryan assured her his name would not come out, but it did. They had a clear-the-air meeting and agreed to stay together because they love each other very much. But she's made it clear that it must never happen again."
A pal of Stacey added: "She's right behind Ryan for Saturday's big game. She knows a win would be the perfect swan song to his career and will be there cheering him on."
