Washington - Attorneys of the National Football League (NFL) are investigating why a porn industry event used several NFL players in its advertisements.
According to WLS-TV in Chicago and Fox Sports, the ads for last month's Exxxotica Expo 2011 in Miami featured Chicago Bears' Major Wright, Houston Texans' Kareem Jackson, Oakland Raiders' Jacoby Ford and Kansas City Chiefs' Brandon Flowers and Eric Berry.
The ad claimed the five were the "hosts" of the event.
"Our legal team is reviewing the ad. In general, companies not affiliated with the NFL or its clubs may not depict a player in his uniform," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told the Chicago station.
A Bears spokesman told the station they are "not associated with the ad."
"This is an improper use of team marks," spokesman Jim Christman told WLS-TV.
