Washington - Bruce Jenner has admitted that he had doubts over stepdaughter Kim Kardashian’s relationship with Kris Humphries and didn’t think that she would marry him.
Jenner said that he was unsure that the brunette beauty would even accept the sportsman’s proposal.
“I can look at people and I can tell if it’s going to work or not,” Contactmusic quoted him as telling TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
“I had my questions. I remember when Kris came to me. We were playing golf and he asked me, ‘Is it OK to ask for her hand in marriage?’ In the back of my head I said, ‘I don’t know if she is going to say yes. But it’s not my decision,’” he said.
Kim filed for divorce after just 72 days of marriage to Kris and though Bruce says it was a “horrible” time for the family, he is proud of his stepdaughter for taking action so quickly.
“I think once she got into it, she realised this is not going to work. And she knew she was going to take the heat... She’s a smart woman and said, ‘Hey, I gotta cut my losses and move on.’ It was horrible. I felt terrible,” he said.
Jenner now insists that he and Kris now want to be more involved with their daughters’ love decisions.
“Maybe we should start questioning some of their decisions... The next guy’s got to go through me,” he added.
