Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Chisora's slap to Klitshcko branded as 'professional' suicide

London - Heavyweight boxer Dereck Chisora has been accused of committing 'professional suicide' after provoking champion Vitali Klitschko by slapping him in the face at the weigh-in for Saturday night's WBC heavyweight title fight.

Chisora butted heads with the champion before delivering a hard slap to the left cheek with his right hand.

The two men were pulled apart after Klitschko got infuriated with Chisora. The pair exchanged vulgar words before Chisora was safely taken out of the Karstadt Sports Store.

Adam Booth, former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye's coach, branded Chisora's misdeed as 'a cheap shot and a professional suicide'.

He believes Chisora has blown his chances of winning after his latest misdemeanor.

"Look at the facts. It was a cheap shot, professional suicide, like a bucket of cold water on Chisora's chances of winning," The Telegraph quoted Booth, as saying.

"Why b----slap Vitali Klitschko? It might work against other fighters, but all he has done is fire Klitschko up. That's the last thing you'd want to do with Vitali. Did you see the big man's reaction? He rose to it," he said.

"I think Chisora has blown his only chance. Vitali's an older man, Chisora must have been planning to take him late into the fight when fatigue takes place. The reality is that Vitali is easier to hit, can't be hurt, and hits harder than Wladimir. It's bad news for Chisora," he added.

His latest actions could prompt disciplinary action from the British Boxing Board if he is judged to have brought the sport into disrepute.
