Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatars Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the grassroots level.
I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics, Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Khloe Kardashian tweets support for hubby’s move away from Mavericks

London - Khloe Kardashian has come out in support of her husband Lamar Odom after he announced his departure from the Dallas Mavericks.

The 27-year-old reality star took to her Twitter account after it was revealed that the 32-year-old basketball player had left the team.

“You deserve so much better,” the Daily Mail quoted her as tweeting.

“Know your worth and know your skills that have been proven and earned! You showed your strength. I love you,” she wrote.

Kardashian immediately took to the micro blogging site after the news broke, writing: “Never a dull moment.”

Earlier, NBA star Odom released a statement saying he will immediately “step away from the team.”

“The Mavericks and I have mutually agreed that it’s in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team.

“I’m sorry that things didn’t work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs’ organisation, my team mates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defence of their championship,” he said.

Odom had spent just four troubled months with the team after his surprise transfer from the Los Angeles Lakers back in December. -

According to ESPN, the team will list Odom as “inactive” for the remainder of the season, which means he could be traded to another team when the season ends.

Some commentators claimed that his involvement with the Kardashians, including starring in his own reality show ‘Khloe and Lamar’, has caused him to lose focus on the basketball court.

However, sources told Radar that the team “dumped him” because “he had too much drama and couldn’t get past his issues.”

“The Mavericks are parting ways with Lamar today. Too much drama, not enough focus on basketball,” a source close to the situation told the website.

“He just couldn’t get past all his issues, whatever they may be, and concentrate on playing basketball,” the source added.

The insider added that his wife was not to blame.

“It’s not anything with Khloe, in fact, she has been the smartest one in his group and has been pushing him hardest to stay focused on his job,” the source said.
