Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Chandigarh -  When Kings XI Punjab take to their home ground, the PCA stadium at Mohali, against Kolkata Knight Riders for their Indian Premier League (IPL) match Wednesday, the players will don green-coloured caps to spread the message of conserving energy.

The Kings XI joined 'One Watt Campaign - Lets save a billion Watts', a nationwide campaign by leading consumer appliances company Godrej Appliances, launched here Tuesday.

Launching the initiative, Godrej and Kings XI officials said the team players will wear green caps at Wednesday’s match to support the energy conservation cause.

The ‘One Watt Project’ vans will tour across the country, covering major metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai, among others, till May 14, a company spokesman said here.

The campaign aims to make people aware to save at least one watt of power.
