London - TV presenter Bear Grylls once again managed to captivate the audience with yet another breath taking stunt as he jumped off the bridge carrying the Olympic flame and landed safely in the parade ground of HMS Calliope.
It was for the first time that the Olympic torch was carried through a zip wire across the river Tyne on day 28 of its journey around the United Kingdom.
The zip wire event saw Grylls slide down the 400-meter wire as fireworks went off around him.
Grylls, who became the youngest Britisher to climb the Mount Everest at the age of 23 in 2003, admitted he had been concerned about several aspects of the day.
"I was kind of worried about the torch going out but it stayed alight - it was amazing," The BBC quoted Grylls, as saying.
"I was a bit nervous about rope and fire but it was fine and we are in one piece. I think you're not human if you're not nervous when you're standing 200ft up and it's blowing you around a little bit. It's a long drop," he added.
"It's still alight, we're alive and I'm super proud to have carried the torch," he said.
