London -  Wingsuit jumper Jhonathan Florez broke four Guinness World Records after he leapt from a plane cruising at 37,265ft over Colombia.

Florez’s death defying jump - made from such a height that he carried oxygen cylinders - broke the record for the longest duration wingsuit jump, lasting 9 minutes and 6 seconds.

The stuntman also claimed the record for the greatest horizontal distance flown in a wingsuit - 16.315 miles, as he battled through temperatures of -45C, the Telegraph reported.

In additon, Florez achieved the record for the greatest absolute distance flown in a wingsuit of 17.520 miles and the highest ever wingsuit jump.

The professional filmmaker and photographer captured the incredible moment using cameras attached to his back and helmet.

Florez completed the jump on April 20 in Colombia.

“It was just an amazing feeling when I completed the jump. It was the best moment of my life,” he said.

“When you are up there it really feels like you are flying.

“It was great to break so many records in just one attempt.

“I had to complete a lot of training to prepare my body for the jump as you get put under great pressure travelling through air - the winds can hit speeds of 120mph.

“You have to be strong enough to be able to manoeuvre your body and I was up their for a long time,” he added.

Florez, who is originally from Medellin, Colombia, made the record jump in an Apache XRW suit after months of training.

The suit included a GPS tracking system and special thermals to protect him from the extreme cold.
